Hello, this is a brief post to inform you that the comments from the last 4 posts were not working. While the comment box appeared as usual, when one would leave a comment, there would be no afterwards message like - "your comment has been sent and await approval" and the comment would not get transmitted back to me.
This problem was probably due to the template change. It has been corrected now and should not be an issue again, sorry for the inconvenience, and if you had posted a comment/question or something then please post it back again and I will respond to the comments, thanks!
Make Money Online Blogging with Blogspot
| blogger, Blogging for beginners, make money blogging, make money online | 6 comments »Before creating the blog
First, head on to blogspot.com and create an account. Once you did that, you can then think about what kind of blog you want to make. Writing articles and blogging in general takes some kind of dedication and a little effort for writing content (articles), therefore I suggest that you think carefully about the topic that you'll write about before even creating a blogspot blog. A good idea would be to make your blog about something you enjoy discussing or your passion as you will be much more motivated to keep on writing and pushing your efforts while earning money, althought not necessary to pick a subject that you like, given that you have a strong will to write and make money.
The title and subdomain name (www.yourblogname.blogspot.com) of your blog should include the keyword you are targetting, the more precise the better. For example, if you are blogging especially about "xyz" brand of laptop then it will come much easier to rank high and faster in the search engines than just "laptops". So when creating your blog, try to get the keyword in the domain nam - for example www.xyzlaptopreviews.blogspot.com , or if it is taken then perhaps www.xyz-laptop-reviews.blogspot.com or something along the lines, just remember to include the keyword in the subdomain name of your blog because it will be much easier to get into the search engines. You should also include they keyword in the title of your blog aswell as description.
When coming at the template style, pick a light background blog template, two good ones would be the minima template or denim template but others can be used as well.
So now you haven't written anything yet in terms of content, but already start with an advantage for the keyword you are targetting for search engine rankings. ps- I will explain how to monetize your blog at the end. Now the factor that makes you properly rank in search engines is
You should start building your own backlinks, or ask for some at last. Do not trade links with other bloggers, ie.you linking to them, them linking to you, as this will not help much. Instead you can write articles on sites like squidoo, ehow, ezinearticles , goarticles , etc... the more links your blog gets, the more authority it will gain on search listings
write articles on these sites and then put a backlink to your blog with keyword text that you are targetting, in our case "xyzlapops" or "xyzlaptopreviews". You should put one backling to your blog's home page and another directly to an article in your blog for every article that you write on these sites. Note that the article you write on these sites should also be related to your niche.
On your blog, every article you write should be related to your niche, ie. do not get tempted to put a blog post about your cat or you will loose somewhat authority. Furthermore, you should regurarly incorporate keywords into the title of your posts, tags, and use them a few times as well as synonyms of your keywords through out the text.
Do not "keyword sutff" your articles, meaning to put your keyword too many times in your article. Once a worker of the google anti-spam team comes across that article, he will click on his deindex button, and your blog will be sandboxed, all your positions in search engines will be lost. Furthermore, I also suspect that he will blackmark your blogger account and your other blogs might also suffer from this.
Another thing to avoid is selling links, or buying links... at least publicly telling people that you are. This is against the terms of service of google, you cannot sell your pagerank. I find it funny when people publicly blog about how they sell links and then they suddenly see their blog drop to pagerank 0.
Lastly and also least, do not waste your time doing that social media stuff, twiiter, facebook, blog commenting = waste of time. What the blog celebrities like John Chow, Problogger etc, are doing is making you turn round in circles till you've spent all your money on their "latest" products. Social media traffic has sometimes been good in rare and lucky cases, but if you want to make the most out of your time, dont bother with it. Traffic on twitter, facebook, etc dosen't even compare in terms of quality with search engine traffic... I will be writing more on this later but trust me on this for now
Monetizing your blog.
Now once you have started doing some of the above, it is time to monetize your blog. I suggest you join google adsense as it works pretty well for most niches. If you have been banned from adsense then a good alternative is Chitika Premium.I have just started using it, as it works well reportedly for targeted search engine traffic, I will keep you updated on my personal results with it. Another good thing to join are affiliate networks. I think that Commission Junction is the best one to join, you might have never heard of it because they offer no referral incentive and nobody is recomending it - but I am part of it and I can tell you that it has a pretty wide range of services and products. Another large affiliate program to join is clickbank, this one is specialized in ebooks, those "get what you want easily and fast" ebooks, but the truth is that they sell somewhat.
Well that was it for today, this brief guide was meant to put you on the right track to make money online using blogspot. This blog post was only meant to be a brief introduction, I will start getting into details on later posts, make sure you don't miss them out - do yourself a favor and subscribe!
Hello everyone! a little time back ago I was writing about my search engine traffic experiment and I can say it has been a success!
For one thing, I have helped one of my readers achieve number 11 ranking on the google search engine for an article by targetting a keyword term receiving more than 600 searches a month. The article she wrote was I think between 300 and 450 words, and after one week that I checked her position again, she came to an impressive 7th place in the search rankings! To note that I asked her to write her article on Hubpages since it has a strong pagerank and thus, better chances to eat the top 10 search rankings for that keyword than her pagerank n/a blog.
And by the way, my traffic has dropped a lot again due to the lack of posts written to appear strategically in search engines... I believe that concentrating your efforts for writing posts that will appear in search engines is much better than blog commenting.
So anyway, I am pursuing this experiment again, last time it looks like only Myra experimented it with he Hubpages account, this time I will offer the first three people or so a chance to rank in the top 10 of google for keywords that receive between 100 and 800 searches a month (low competition so easier ranking). The point of this is that if it takes you 30 minutes to 1 hour to write a post that will get in top 10 of a keyword that receives let's say 500 searches a month and 100 unique visitors to your site, then you can write these kinds of posts over and over, getting visitors on cruise controll, and that my friends I think is the key to making money online. There's more that I would like to say about it but that's about it for today.
So anyway, to participate in this experiment to get your hubpages post (ehow and squidoo works too) or blog post in the top 10 for a set keyword, then tell me you blog's adress here, and I will give you the exact instructions of how your post should be, what title to use, what labels/tags to use, when to repeat the keywords in the text, etc. I will do this for first 3 or so people that request it here, and will post instructions to your blog's comments section.
Just for your curiosity, I got Myra's article in the 7 position of google last time for a term with 600+ searches a month, and btw Myra, I'll be glad to help you do it again for another article, just post here. So anyway thanks for reading and you can subscribe by email if you don't want to miss out part three! Good luck all!
After 4 months of existence, my blog finally gets a blog Makeover! Some of you might have noticed that this blog has been changing looks almost every day in the past week, and that's also one of the reasons why I stopped posting for that week - to get the new looks up and running.
I have changed templates but have still kept that clean-like, light on the eyes design. One of the reasons why I changed the design of this blog was because this blog needed more widget space. I have added a Live traffic gadget from feedjit as well as other widgets to better track the evolution of this blog.
Another reason why I changed templates is because my ads wooudn't get enough exposure. When new and "uninterested" visitors would come to the blog and want to leave back soon, they would have no immediate link to click in order to leave the blog. Now I have put my adsense banner higher aswell as a google custom search box (giving me income) and some affiliate ads. By the way, those kinds of visitors are quite common in every blog of site, going from 20 to 70 % in terms of total visitors (expressed in bounce rate). While my own bounce rate has been at a steady 25 to 40% according to Google Analytics. All in all, widget space and better ad exposure are the two main reasons why I changed this blog's design.
So anyways, while the gross work is done, there are some little improvements still to be made in terms of design but that's not a problem and posting will resume to the regular twice a week rate again . I would also like to get some feedback and know what old readers think of this new design...do you prefer the old one? or from newer readers what they think about this design. I hope that this blog makeover pays off and will keep you updated if I see any changes or benefits I get!
Have you noticed a change to the adsense ads appearance? It received a small makeover indeed! If you log in to your adsense account now and try to make a new ad, you will notice that the small text identifying the ads has come from a bigger and bolder font to a thinner one.
One important factor for publishers to maximize their adsense ads performance was to blend them into the content and make the sponsored ads actually look less like ads and more like content links. Now it looks like google recognizing this trend and has diminished the appearance of the text "ads by google".
So what do you think - will publishers now expect higher ctr(click-through rates)? or will it not change much? to be continued...!
